The two sources and what separates them
The Curaçao Gaming Authority publishes two things: a certificate portal in which individual domains can be looked up, and a list as a PDF file that carries all licences and is reissued every few days. Both are official. Both describe the same numbers. And they do not agree.
The certificate portal
- Searches by domain or company name — not by licence number
- Shows company, company number, licence number, issue date, current status
- A removed domain is expressly marked as «removed from the register»
- A revoked certificate carries the heading «Revoked»
The PDF list
- Contains no domain column at all — brands cannot be found in it
- Carries number, company, B2B/B2C, company number, issue, expiry, status
- For the same numbers it sometimes shows the date of a bulk renewal rather than first issue
- For numbers the portal calls «Active» it sometimes carries «Assessment in progress»
The consequence for anyone checking a licence: «licence checked», without saying which of the two directories was opened, means nothing. This ranking therefore gives both the status and the date on which it was read for every Curaçao entry.
How to look a domain up in the certificate portal
- Take the domain, not the brandSearch for the address in the browser bar. The brand name in the logo will not help, because the directory keeps companies and domains.
- Search the certificate directoryThe portal sits at cert.cga.cw. The front page shows no search box — the search lives on a page of its own. Look only at the front page and you will wrongly conclude the directory cannot be searched.
- Open the certificateThe hit leads to a «Certificate of Operation» page with company, company number, licence number, issue date and status.
- Compare with the footerDoes the number on the certificate match the one the operator prints? If not, that is the most interesting thing the whole exercise will produce.
How a Curaçao number is built
The current form reads OGL/2024/1676/0905: the OGL marker, the year, a running number and the number of the certificate. Older forms such as 8048/JAZ date from the era of master licences with sub-licences and say little about the present position — find such a number in a page footer and you should look the domain up in the portal as well.

One of these entries carries an issue date from May 2025 and a reading date of 2 September 2026 — that is the entry in first place. For the rest, either the reading date is missing or it falls in August 2026. Those differences are exactly what decides the score.
What a revoked certificate means
The portal has a state of its own for withdrawn licences: «Revoked». One candidate for this ranking carried that status when read on 26 August 2026 and was therefore not taken up — not put in a lower place, but left off the list entirely. A ranking compares differences between documented entries; a revoked entry is not a difference but a different category.
Common questions
Is a Curaçao licence worth anything?
It can be looked up, and that is its practical worth: company, number, status and issue date stand in a directory nobody can change from the playing site. What it does not provide is a guarantee about how one individual account will be handled.
Why can I not find my playing site in the register?
Most common reason: the search was for the brand name instead of the domain or the company. Second most common: the search does not sit on the portal's front page. Third, the domain may genuinely have been removed — the portal says so expressly when it has.
What does «Assessment in progress» mean?
That status appears in the PDF list while the same number carries «Active» in the certificate portal. It is a sign that the authority's two sources are not in step, and a reason always to record which one you read.
